Reyes Media Group’s (RGM’s) KYYS studio — home of La X 1250 AM — is enjoying an updated space.
After many years of operating with dated equipment, hosts and guests alike can enjoy the upgrades, said Ed Reyes, RGM business development manager.
“It’s been nice to see the station get the improvements after many years of operating with the equipment and furnishings that were dated,” he said. “We have put a lot thought into making the design more functional for both guests and staff.”
This design includes new equipment, such as new consoles, microphones, cameras and a new phone system. It also includes a new layout, with more space for guests and brighter lighting, thanks to the addition of a wall-to-wall window and two other big windows to allow for sunlight.
For Diana Reyes Raymer, RGM general manager, the updates were necessary to improve the services offered.
“Our goal was for our station to be heard clear and better on your conventional (system), as well as any digital platforms, such as radio/phone and computers,” she said. “Our new studio gives our visitors a chance as soon as they walk into our offices to have a view of the studio.”
Not only that, but the improved KYYS studio has better tools to connect with listeners.
“With the new technology, (it’s) easier for our DJs to connect with our listenership and (for) clients to get on (the) air,” Reyes Raymer said.
This is only the beginning, she said, as more renovations are expected over the next several years.
“KDTD is the next station that will be renovated, then KCZZ and then the rest of the office spaces in the building,” she said.

El estudio KYYS de Reyes Media Group (RGM), hogar de La X 1250 AM, disfruta de un espacio renovado.
Después de muchos años de operar con equipos anticuados, tanto los anfitriones como los invitados pueden disfrutar de las actualizaciones, dijo Ed Reyes, gerente de desarrollo comercial de RGM.
“Ha sido agradable ver que la estación obtuvo las mejoras después de muchos años de operar con el equipo y el mobiliario que estaban anticuados”, dijo. “Hemos pensado mucho en hacer que el diseño sea más funcional tanto para los invitados como para el personal”.
Este diseño incluye nuevos equipos, como nuevas consolas, micrófonos, cámaras y un nuevo sistema telefónico. También incluye un nuevo diseño, con más espacio para invitados y una iluminación más brillante, gracias a la adición de una ventana de pared a pared y otras dos ventanas grandes para permitir la entrada de luz solar.
Para Diana Reyes Raymer, gerente general de RGM, las actualizaciones eran necesarias para mejorar los servicios ofrecidos.
“Nuestro objetivo era que nuestra estación se escuchara clara y mejor en su (sistema) convencional, así como en cualquier plataforma digital, como radio/teléfono y computadoras”, dijo. “Nuestro nuevo estudio brinda a nuestros visitantes la oportunidad de tener una vista del estudio tan pronto como ingresan a nuestras oficinas”.
No sólo eso, sino que el estudio de KYYS mejorado tiene mejores herramientas para conectarse con los oyentes.
“Con la nueva tecnología, (es) más fácil para nuestros DJs conectarse con nuestra audiencia y (para) los clientes salir al aire”, dijo Reyes Raymer.
Esto es sólo el comienzo, dijo, ya que se esperan más renovaciones en los próximos años.
“KDTD es la próxima estación que se renovará, luego KCZZ y luego el resto de los espacios de oficinas en el edificio”, dijo.
