WyCo Dumpster Days: Oct. 13 & 14

The Unified Government’s Public Works Department is excited to announce the second Dumpster Days event of 2023! Dumpster Days is an event to help residents recycle electronics waste for a fee and dispose of unwanted bulky items like old mattresses and furniture for free.
The event occurs on October 13 & 14 from 8 AM to 12 PM at Indian Springs, 47th & Orville, Kansas City, KS 66102.
Visitors need to show proof of Wyandotte County residency with something displaying their name and address, like a driver’s license or utility bill.
Items accepted include electronics recycling, mattresses, furniture, refrigerators, general appliances, fixtures, microwaves, freezers, televisions, and more.
For televisions, computer screens, flat screens, and monitors, the following fees are charged:
*CRT Computer Screens, $40
*LCD/Flat Screen TVs, $20
*CRT TVs, $40
Cash only. Exact change is required. For the complete list of accepted electronics recycling, visit wycokck.org/DumpsterDays.
Items that cannot be accepted include:
*All household hazardous waste
*Paint
*Yard waste
*Batteries
*Storm debris
*Food waste
*Medical waste
*Glass & plastics recycling
*Tires
*Construction or demolition material
*Any item from businesses, non-profits, or other commercial entities
These items will be turned away at the event, so remember not to bring them!
For yard waste, storm debris, and glass or paper recycling, residents may use the Recycling & Yard Waste Center at 3241 Park Drive, Kansas City, KS 66102, at no charge. The Recycling & Yard Waste Center is open from 10 AM to 3 PM, Thursday through Saturday, until November 26. The center is closed on holidays.

El Departamento de Servicios Públicos se complace en anunciar el Segundo evento WyCo Dumpster Days de 2023. Dumpster Days es un evento para ayudar a los residentes a reciclar desechos electrónicos por una tarifa y deshacerce de artículos voluminosos no deseados, como colchones y muebles viejos, de forma gratuita.
El evento se llevará acabo en el Indian Springs, 47th & Orville, Kansas City, KS 66102, el 13 & 14 de octubre de 8 AM a 12 PM.
Visitantes tendran que enseñar prueba de domicilio en el condado con su nombre y dirección, como una licencia de conducir o factura de utilidades.
Elementos aceptados incluye electrónicos reciclados, colchones, muebles, refrigeradores, electrodomésticos en general, accesorios, microondas, congeladores, televisiones, y más.
Para deshacerse de televisiones, computadoras, pantallas planas, y monitores, se cobran las siguientes tarifas:
*Pantallas de computadoras, $40
*Televisiones pantallas planas, $20
*Televisiones CRT, $40
Sólo en efectivo. Debe tener cambio exacto.
Elementos no aceptados incluye:
*Todos residuos domésticos peligrosos
*Pintura
*Desechos de jardín
*Baterías
*Escombros de tormenta
*Desechos alimentarios
*Desechos medicos
*Reciclaje de vidrio y plástico
*Llanta
*Material de demolicion de construcción
*Cualquier artículo de negocios
Estos elementos no serán aceptados, recuerde no traerlos!
Para desechos de jardín, escombros de tormenta, y reciclaje, residentes pueden usar el centro de Reciclaje y Desechos de Jardín en la 3241 Park Drive, Kansas City, KS 66102 sin costo. El Centro de Reciclaje esta abierto de 10 AM a 3 PM, de jueves a sábado, excepto los días festivos, hasta el 26 de noviembre de 2023.. El centro esta cerrado los dias festivos.
