On a recent statement from The White House, U.S. President Joe Biden addressed the urgency of fixing the border crisis between Mexico and the United States.
He stated that the border has been broken for too long and emphasized the necessity of fixing it without further delay.
“I instructed my team to begin negotiations with a bipartisan group of Senators to seriously, and finally, address the border crisis,” Biden was quoted in the statement as saying.
The President’s remarks highlighted his administration’s efforts to tackle the issues of immigration and border security.
“What’s been negotiated would – if passed into law – be the toughest and fairest set of reforms to secure the border we’ve ever had in our country,” Biden was quoted as saying.
One of the provisions of the proposed legislation would grant the president new emergency authority to shut down the border in situations of overwhelming influx.
Biden urged Congress to fulfill the funding request made in October, which includes provisions for additional border patrol agents, immigration judges, asylum officers, and advanced inspection technology to combat the influx of fentanyl at the southwest border.
“Securing the border through these negotiations is a win for America. For everyone who is demanding tougher border control, this is the way to do it. If you’re serious about the border crisis, pass a bipartisan bill and I will sign it,” Biden stated.
Biden ensure his commitment to solve the border crisis by prioritizing bipartisan collaboration and outlining measures for the reform.

En una reciente declaración de la Casa Blanca, el presidente estadounidense Joe Biden abordó la urgencia de solucionar la crisis fronteriza entre México y Estados Unidos. Afirmó que la frontera lleva demasiado tiempo rota y enfatizó la necesidad de arreglarla sin más demora.
“Le ordené a mi equipo que comenzara negociaciones con un grupo bipartidista de senadores para abordar seria y finalmente la crisis fronteriza”, dijo Biden en el comunicado.

Una de las disposiciones de la legislación propuesta otorgaría al presidente nueva autoridad de emergencia para cerrar la frontera en situaciones de afluencia abrumadora.
Biden instó al Congreso a cumplir con la solicitud de financiamiento realizada en octubre, que incluye disposiciones para agentes de la patrulla fronteriza adicionales, jueces de inmigración, oficiales de asilo y tecnología de inspección avanzada para combatir la afluencia de fentanilo en la frontera suroeste.
“Asegurar la frontera a través de estas negociaciones es una victoria para Estados Unidos. Para todos los que exigen un control fronterizo más estricto, esta es la manera de hacerlo. Si se toman en serio la crisis fronteriza, aprueben un proyecto de ley bipartidista y lo firmaré”, afirmó.
Finalmente, Biden aseguró su compromiso para resolver la crisis fronteriza priorizando la colaboración bipartidista y delineando medidas para la reforma.
