Necesitamos un sistema sencillo y directo donde las personas con casos compasivos puedan demostrar una historia de servicio hacia sus comunidades”.
Durante su discurso, Clinton prometió un proyecto de ley para la reforma de inmigración durante los primeros 100 días de su presidencia. La candidata presidencial también declaró que las personas que demuestren compromiso hacia su comunidad deben ser los que sean elegibles para la acción diferida.
“Como parte de mi compromiso (hacia la comunidad de inmigración), introduciré una reforma de inmigración integral con un camino hacia la ciudadanía”, dijo Clinton.
Una de las metas de Clinton es detener la separación familiar. De manera específica, desea cerrar las localidades de detención privadas y detener las redadas que afectan a la comunidad inmigrante.

On July 14, U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stated she would support an immigration reform bill that would alleviate the situation of 12 million undocumented immigrants living in the country.
“DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents) is squarely within the president’s authority – and I will keep saying that and fighting for it,” Clinton was quoted by the Immigration Impact website as saying. “But there is more we can do. We need a simple, straightforward system where people with sympathetic cases can show a history of service to their communities.”
During her speech, Clinton promised an immigration reform bill within the first 100 days of her presidency. The presidential candidate also stated that people who show commitment to their community should be the ones who are eligible for deferred action.
“As part of my commitment (to the immigration community), I will introduce a comprehensive immigration reform with a path to citizenship,” Clinton said.
One of Clinton’s goals is to stop family separation. Specifically, she wants to close private detention facilities and stop the raids that affect the immigrant community.
“Too many children in our country say goodbye to their parents every morning, not knowing if Mom and Dad will be there when we get home,” Clinton said in her speech, which aired on CBS News. “I want to do everything I can to keep families together.”
