“Reemplazaremos a Obamacare”.
“Tenemos un plan y es genial.”
“Obamacare está muerto. Tenemos un plan mucho mejor, y te encantará”.
Esas son algunas de las promesas que el presidente Trump hizo con respecto a la Ley del Cuidado de Salud a Bajo Precio, también conocida como “Obamacare”. Para reemplazar el sistema de salud introducido por el gobierno de Obama, los republicanos redactaron un proyecto de ley sanitaria tan mal ejecutado que ni siquiera sus creadores pudieron llegar a un acuerdo. A pesar que Trump repitió una y otra vez que nos encantaría su proyecto, el proyecto no fue bienvenido ni siquiera por los miembros de su propio partido que no consiguieron llegar a un acuerdo y votar sobre él.
Como resultado, el 24 de marzo, el presidente de la Cámara, Paul Ryan, retiró su proyecto de ley de abrogación de Obamacare. Un día antes de este giro sensacional de acontecimientos, el presidente Trump confió en su estrategia más básica de la negociación: Amenazó con dejar de apoyar la reforma de salud si el proyecto no es aprobado a su manera.
En otras palabras, el Presidente lanzó una rabieta y dijo que si las cosas no se hacían a su manera él ya no quería jugar.
Después de que el proyecto de ley fue retirado, Trump dijo: “Estábamos muy cerca”, y añadió: “Fue un margen muy, muy estrecho.” Y, como era de esperar, concluyó sus comentarios culpando a los demócratas por no haber derogado y reemplazado Obamacare.
Pero nuevamente, para aclarar, el proyecto de ley que propusieron los republicanos ni siquiera fue votado. Los demócratas no tuvieron la oportunidad de votar en contra. Los republicanos no pudieron llegar a un acuerdo.
Como reportó CNN, Ryan les dijo a sus compañeros republicanos que el partido ahora “cambiará” su punto de enfoque. Trump dijo que la reforma tributaria sería la siguiente. Así que, básicamente, la administración de Trump ya no quiere jugar con la salud. Su nuevo juguete es la reforma tributaria.
Eso es, por supuesto, hasta la próxima rabieta de Trump.

“We will repeal and replace Obamacare.”
“We have a plan and it is great.”
“Obamacare is dead. We have a much better plan, and you will love it.”
Those are a few of the promises President Trump made regarding the Affordable Care Act – a.k.a., “Obamacare.” To replace the healthcare system introduced by the Obama administration, Republicans drafted a healthcare bill that was so badly executed that not even its creators could agree upon it. Still, Trump told people, “you will love it,” even though it wasn’t even loved enough by the members of his own party to come to an agreement and vote on it.
As a result, on March 24, House Speaker Paul Ryan pulled his Obamacare repeal bill from the floor. The day before this sensational turn of events, President Trump relied on his most basic negotiation strategy: He threatened to drop the issue of healthcare reform if the bill didn’t pass.
In other words, the president threw a temper tantrum and said if he didn’t get his way he was done playing.
After the bill was pulled, Trump said, “We were very close,” and added, “It was a very, very tight margin.” And unsurprisingly, he concluded his comments by blaming Democrats for his failure to repeal and replace Obamacare.
But again, just to make it clear, the bill being proposed by the Republicans wasn’t even voted on. Democrats didn’t have a chance to vote against it. Republicans couldn’t come to an agreement.
As CNN reported, Ryan told fellow Republicans they were “moving on” from healthcare. Trump said tax reform would be next. So basically, the Trump administration is done playing with healthcare. Its next toy is tax reform.
That is, of course, until Trump’s next temper tantrum.Either his way or he’s done playing
