On Dec. 7, the Frontier School of Innovation in Kansas City, Missouri, hosted its fifth annual Multicultural Festival.
The night was filled with student performances, ranging from musical numbers to poetry. With help from parents and staff members, the students worked together to create country booths. This year, there were more than 40 booths on display.
According to Jennifer Watson, Frontier director of communications and outreach, the night was a complete success.
“Each year, it gets bigger and bigger,” she said. “It was a great event and we got positive feedback from our families.”
This year, the event had its largest turnout ever, with a “full-packed gym” and more than 20 performances, Watson said.
The festival is a way to showcase and honor the student body’s diversity by highlighting students’ cultures, she said.
“It’s an opportunity to showcase the cultures, learn more about (them) … (and) ensure that we’re recognizing those cultures,” Watson said.

El 7 de diciembre, la Escuela de Innovación de Frontier en Kansas City, Missouri, organizó su quinto Festival anual Multicultural.
La noche estuvo llena de actuaciones de estudiantes, desde números musicales hasta poesía. Con la ayuda de los padres y miembros del personal, los estudiantes trabajaron en equipo para crear puestos de los países. Este año, hubo más de 40 puestos en exposición.
Según Jennifer Watson, directora de comunicaciones y divulgación de Frontier, la noche fue un éxito total.
“Cada año, se hace más y más grande”, dijo. “Fue un gran evento y recibimos comentarios positivos de parte de nuestras familias”.
Este año, el evento tuvo su mayor participación, con un “gimnasio repleto” y más de 20 presentaciones, dijo Watson.
El festival es una manera de mostrar y honrar la diversidad del cuerpo estudiantil al resaltar las culturas de los estudiantes, explicó.
“Es una oportunidad para mostrar las culturas, aprender sobre ellas … (y) asegurarnos de que estamos reconociendo esas culturas”, Watson dijo.
