The Kansas City (Missouri) Police Department is investigating the death of a 31-year-old woman who died March 14 from injuries.
As multiple media outlets reported, the police found Elizabeth Stivers injured near Spruce and Seventh avenues. At press time, the cause of injury and a potential suspect or suspects hadn’t been disclosed.
On Sunday (March 19), Stivers’ loved ones organized a vigil to honor her. Her family told KMBC-TV (Channel 9) that it wants answers about what happened to her.
“I want to find out who did it and why,” Charles Stivers, her grandfather, told the TV station. “That’s the real thing. And I want to know why did they do it? That’s what I want. They take somebody that is that beautiful and magnificent and wonderful away.”
Her mother, Mary Stivers, told KSHB-TV (Channel 41) that her daughter “was an outgoing young adult who cared about dogs more than anybody.”
“I just can’t believe she’s gone,” her mother said.
