Mobile Consulate of Guatemala on the Westside!

On April 15-16, the Guatemalan Consulate was in the Westside area of Kansas City, serving the Guatemalan community by providing essential services, which included passports, consular cards, registration/birth certificates and other basic services to hundreds of Guatemalan.
“We thank the Westside CAN Center, the Welcome Center, Reyes Media, the volunteers and KCPD-Westside CAN officer Jon Hall for their support in the implementation of this mobile consulate,” said Guatemala Ambassador Cristobal Herrera. “It has been very important to coordinate with Mr. Jorge Coromac Director of the Westside CAN Center because he knows the volunteers and the essential organizations that make this consulate a success and with excellent service to the public.”
Herrera added: “The new ‘online appointment’ process has been very, very effective. We know that there are many Guatemalans in need of these essential services and the Oklahoma Guatemalan Consulate is doing everything we can to continue serving the community. Likewise, we express our gratitude to the Welcome Center and Father Taylor who allowed the use of the facilities that supported the realization of this consulate in an adequate and effective way.”
“This is the twelfth mobile consulate that we have had the opportunity to support and implement here in the Westside. We are very impressed with the system used on this occasion because 100% of the people with appointments arrived and did not have to wait long hours, which was very effective,” said Jorge Coromac, Westside CAN director. “We will continue educating and guiding the Guatemalan community to make their appointments on the Consulate website on Mondays and Wednesdays starting at 8 am.”
