By Paula Alzate

To help women detect and treat breast cancer in its early stages, clinics such as HCA Midwest Health are providing mammograms and breast imaging in 3-D.
According to HCA, 3-D is the latest technology in mammography. The technology allows doctors and specialists to see images in clearer ways and catch lumps they wouldn’t see in a regular mammogram. The technology has increased the detection of cancer by up to 40 percent, according to HCA.
The 3-D exam is available at six HCA locations in the Kansas City area, including Overland Park in Kansas, and Lee Summit and Independence in Missouri. For more information, visit http://hcamidwest.com/home/.
