By Roberta Pardo

A 25-year-old man shot and killed five colleagues on Monday (April 10) at the downtown bank where he worked in Louisville, Kentucky, police said, as reported by multiple media outlets.
Eight other people were wounded, two of them critically, it also was reported.
Those who died included Thomas Elliot, 63 and senior vice president at Old National Bank, the site of the shooting. Local reports said he also was a longtime Democratic fundraiser and a friend of Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, a Democrat.
“Tommy Elliott helped me build my law career, helped me become governor and helped me be a good dad,” Beshear said during a press conference, as quoted by the British Broadcasting Corp. “He was an incredible friend. … These are irreplaceable, amazing individuals that a terrible act of violence tore from all of us.”
Joshua Barrick, 40; Juliana Farmer, 45; and James Tutt, 64, also died. A fifth person, Deanna Eckert, 57, initially survived the shooting but died Monday night, the police said.
Police officials later said the suspect was livestreaming the rampage and was killed in a firefight. At least two officers were reportedly shot while exchanging gunfire, according to Louisville Deputy Police Chief Paul Humphrey, who said one of the officers was hospitalized in critical condition.
Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel, the interim chief of the Louisville Metro Police Department, identified the shooter as Connor Sturgeon. No motive for the shooting had been specified at the time of this writing.
